Terms of Service
Last updated: August 23, 2026.
By using deckofcards.net you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service is operated by deckofcards.net, based in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@deckofcards.net.
1. Who may use the service
Anyone may play as a guest. Creating an account requires that you are at least 16 years old. If you make a purchase, you confirm that you are an adult or have a parent or guardian's permission.
2. Personal use
The service is for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell access, operate the service on behalf of paying customers, or access it with automated tools. We may apply reasonable technical limits on how many tables you create in a day, on how many recently played tables an account lists, on how much a single table may be changed in one sitting, and on custom deck uploads to keep the service working well for everyone. Limits may differ for guests, free accounts, and pass holders, and are set well above normal personal use, including classrooms and tournaments. A table driven far past ordinary play may stop saving changes for about an hour; rejoining does not lift it sooner.
3. Accounts
Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account. Provide accurate information when signing up. You may delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Purchases
What each pass includes, with the current figures, is listed on the Passes page. The version of that page in effect when you buy is the one that applies to your purchase.
- Purchases are one-time payments. Passes expire on their own; there is no auto-renewal and nothing to cancel.
- Each pass runs for the number of days in its name: a 30-Day Pass runs 30 days, a 365-Day Pass runs 365 days, a 1000-Day Pass runs 1000 days. Which passes are on sale can change; the Passes page lists the ones currently offered. Buying another pass before your current one ends adds its duration to the end of your current pass, so renewing early costs you nothing.
- A Lifetime purchase, where one is offered, lasts for the life of the service. Passes and Lifetime purchases alike are tied to your account and are not transferable.
- Payment is processed by our payment provider under their terms. We never receive your full card number.
- Prices may change, but a change never affects something you already bought.
When a pass ends. Your account, your table list, and your custom decks all remain, and you keep normal free access. While no pass is active you cannot create or edit custom decks, though your existing decks stay viewable and can still be deleted. A premium table is deleted after 90 days without activity, but once everyone has left it, only its creator can resume it, and only after extending their pass. Another person's pass cannot unlock the table. A table that still has people at it is never interrupted.
Refunds. Email us at hello@deckofcards.net within 14 days of a purchase and we will refund it, so long as the pass has not yet been used to create or resume a table that needed it, or to save a custom deck. Outside that window, or where a pass has been used, write to us anyway and we will look at the circumstances. Where the law where you live gives you a stronger right to cancel or to a refund, that right applies and nothing here reduces it.
5. Game data and deletion
A free table is deleted automatically about 72 hours after the last activity. A premium table is deleted automatically about 90 days after the last activity. A table created while its creator holds a pass is premium. If you created a free table and later buy a pass, it becomes premium the next time you resume it yourself. No one else's pass can change your table or its deletion schedule. Deleted game data cannot be recovered, so don't treat the service as permanent storage.
A signed-in account lists its 50 most recently played tables. Older entries drop off that list, but removing a table from the list does not delete it.
6. Your communications at a table
Playing at a table means sending your play to us and to the other people seated there: the cards and pieces you move, the seat and table name you choose, the reactions you pick, the dice you roll, and the scores you keep. You consent to us, and to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, transmitting, processing, recording, and storing those communications, along with the technical information needed to deliver them and the ordinary service logs described in that policy, for as long as is needed to run the table, keep it secure, and provide the features you use. This is simply how a shared table works: without it your play cannot be shown to the other players. We do not use free-text chat; reactions are chosen from a fixed set.
If you sign in, your browser also communicates directly with our authentication provider, Google Firebase Authentication, to sign you in and to keep your session alive, and you consent to that communication. It happens only for sign-in and session refresh, never merely because you opened a page or sat down at a table as a guest.
If you would rather your play were not transmitted and stored this way, don't join a table. You can leave at any time, and game data is deleted on the schedule above.
7. Play money
Chips, scores, and other in-game items are play tokens with no monetary value. The service is not a gambling service: nothing you can win at a table can be exchanged for money or anything of value.
8. Acceptable behaviour
Don't abuse other players, disrupt games you weren't invited to, attempt to break or overload the service, or use it for anything illegal. We may suspend access that violates these terms.
You may not upload illegal content, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, explicit sexual content, content promoting hatred or extremist organizations, malicious files, or content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
You can report content, behaviour, security, or privacy concerns from the table menu. We may preserve and review relevant table, deck, account, and technical records when investigating a report. To keep reporting usable we limit how many reports one account, browser, or network can send in a day; if you reach that limit and still need to reach us, email the address below.
9. Content and ownership
The service, its design, and its artwork belong to deckofcards.net or its licensors. Anything you add to the service (such as a display name, image, or custom content) remains yours; you give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the service, including displaying custom deck images to people playing at a table that uses the deck. You confirm that you have the right to use and share the content and, where an image depicts another person, that you have any permission required to upload and display it.
10. Image moderation
Custom deck images may be automatically screened by third-party content moderation services before storage. This is used to detect potentially prohibited content, not for facial identification. We may reject, remove, or restrict access to content, or suspend accounts that violate these terms. Automated screening is not perfect and does not guarantee that every prohibited or illegal image will be detected. Contact us if you believe an image was rejected incorrectly. Image processing is described further in our Privacy Policy.
Custom image uploads may be subject to usage and daily limits to prevent abuse and manage service costs. These limits are set well above normal personal use and may be adjusted over time. If you reach a temporary limit, image uploads may be unavailable until the limit resets. You may not attempt to evade these limits or automate uploads.
11. Copyright and other rights complaints
If you believe something on the service infringes your copyright or another right you hold, email hello@deckofcards.net with enough information for us to act: what you own, where it appears (the table's share code, and the card or name if you know it), how to reach you, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized, and a statement that what you've told us is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
We will review the complaint and may remove or restrict the content, and may suspend accounts that infringe repeatedly. If we remove something you uploaded, you can reply to the same address to tell us why you believe it should go back.
12. Availability, data, and responsibility
We work to keep the service available and your data intact, but we do not promise that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. We may suspend or limit all or part of the service for planned or emergency maintenance, security, capacity, legal, or operational reasons.
Outages, delays, and failures may also result from internet or network problems, failures by hosting, authentication, payment, or other service providers, or events beyond our reasonable control.
Game, deck, and account data may occasionally be lost, corrupted, or unavailable. Do not rely on the service as permanent storage or as the only copy of important information.
If an extended outage materially prevents you from using a time-limited paid pass, contact us. Depending on the circumstances, we may extend the pass or provide another appropriate remedy.
We may change or discontinue all or part of the service. Lifetime purchases end if the service permanently shuts down. If a permanent shutdown ends a time-limited paid pass early, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of data, revenue, or opportunity, and our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or changes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or changed.
13. Governing law and courts
Any and all legal disputes, claims, or proceedings arising out of or relating to the service, these terms, our Privacy Policy, or any purchase must be governed exclusively by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Any and all such disputes, claims, or proceedings must be brought and resolved exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located in British Columbia, Canada. You and deckofcards.net irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection based on venue or inconvenient forum.
This section applies to the fullest extent permitted by law. It does not limit any consumer protection, statutory right, or access to a court or tribunal that applicable law does not permit you to waive by contract.
14. Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and note the change on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to a successor if the service changes hands. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service.
